Iran's war games

Iran's fleet of warships will launch into waters from the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Eden for a ten-day war game beginning on Saturday.
In an appearance on state television, Iran's Navy Commander says the exercises will prove the military's might.
(SOUNDBITE) (Farsi) IRANIAN NAVY COMMANDER HABIBULAH SAYARI SAYING:
"The manoeuvres will be carried out with the intention of displaying the determination, defensive and deterrent power of the Iranian armed forces as well as relaying a message of peace and friendship in the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman and the free waters of the Indian Ocean."
Iran often conducts war games in an apparent attempt to show the country's readiness for any strike by Israel or the United States.
