Iran’s new underground missile facility

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards naval arm showcased a newly built underground missile facility on the nation’s south coast, just two weeks after unveiling a separate underground naval base.

It features ‘hundreds of cruise missiles’ with anti-electronic warfare capabilities and ranges over 1,000km, said to be stored hundreds of meters below ground and deployable on short notice.

Iranian military officials emphasized its potential to ‘create hell for enemy vessels.’ The unveiling comes amid ongoing military exercises, dubbed Eqtedar. These drills have included demonstrations of advanced naval and reconnaissance capabilities, as well as scenarios to protect Iran’s nuclear facilities from possible strikes.

The developments unfold as Tehran awaits any changes in U.S. policy under President Trump’s following years of ‘maximum pressure’ sanctions.
