Irah Johnson - Mirror

He stares into the mirror like an unknown self,
Could he not identify that the reflection that stared was still and he not,
Does that mean he was never a changed man in the beginning of it all?
Why I wonder did he think he changed when he had not,
He lies to himself like a man in abyss,
He wonders if he can start all over,
All over to be done without a memory so vivid,
As a man without a past,
He does not see he has not changed,
Through his image he feels guilt,
He knows he has done something wrong,
Yet he puts his sins away by looking in the mirror,
He could not face himself a man gone wrong,
The stairs so long and lights so dim,
He questions why he cannot reach the end,
He knows that he can never face himself.
