Invasion hurts Iraq-Kuwait relations

Monday marks 20 years since Iraq, led by the late Saddam Hussein, invaded its southern neighbour Kuwait, which claimed hundreds of lives.

Diplomatic ties between the two countries have resumed but the trauma from the invasion still hangs over their relations.

Many unresolved issues remain between the neighbours, including land and maritime border disputes, as well as billions of dollars in war reparations that Kuwait seeks from Iraq.
