The helicopter-parent millennial generation struggles with narcissism and self-hatred. One outlet can be racism towards ones own group, which can take the form of white guilt or BDS. The other outlet is seeking confirmation in ones group and replacing all reasoning (logos) with the dos and don'ts of the peers (ethos). The newfangled religion seeks to replace Christianity, but cannot hold the candle up to it. Is the belief of a society the result of the game of politics, anyway? Is self-hypnosis, the consent to get deluded, the reason why some people really believe it?
