Inside Out is an upcoming 2015 American 3D computer-animated fantasy–comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is based on an original idea by Pete Docter,[4] who is directing the film along with co-director Ronnie del Carmen, and producer Jonas Rivera.[5] The film's voice cast features Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Kaitlyn Dias, Diane Lane, Kyle MacLachlan and John Ratzenberger. The film will be set in the mind of a young girl, Riley Anderson, where five emotions—Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Sadness—try to lead the girl through her life.[4][6] The film had its world premiere on May 18, 2015, at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in an out-of-competition screening,[7] followed by a wide theatrical release on June 19, 2015.[8] The film will also premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 9, 2015, in an out-of-competition advanced screening.[9] Early reception is critically acclaimed with many praising its unique and original ideas as well as Pixar's return to form.
