Inquiry focuses on ferry crew

Investigators seize box-loads of documents from the offices of the firm which owns the South Korean ferry which capsized.

Inquiry officials say the captain may not have been on the bridge at the time.

They say the third officer may have been steering the ship but it's normal for junior officers to do that.

By Friday at least 28 people on board were confirmed dead.

Fears are growing that none of the 268 still missing would be found alive.

South Korea's coastguard service said on Friday divers had been unable to get inside the hull of the vessel.

(SOUNDBITE)(Korean) KO MYUNG-SUK, SENIOR OFFICIAL WITH THE SOUTH KOREAN COASTGUARD, SAYING:

"Two divers entered the water and opened the door of the cargo compartment and went in but they couldn't go any further due to obstacles and didn't find any survivors."

Nearly all those still unaccounted for are students and teachers from Danwon High School in Ansan, an industrial town near Seoul.
