Innocent Once - The Bird

My secret was like a bird
And in a cage it lived
Alone, glum and wondersome
Looking out from it's cage
Longing to one day be free
Then suddenly
Some one let my secret out
And the bird flew
High in the sky and all around
Until everybody knew
But the bird did not know
How to survive in the wild
Wounded by fierce eye, cold looks and words
It wimpered like a child
Drawing it's last sigh
It wished it had never been released
Life inside the cage was better atleast
