State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss spoke before the Knesset's State Control Committee on Tuesday, saying that deterring punitive action is mandatory when in comes to white-collar crimes and public officials' breach of trust offenses. The comments were made during a special session on corruption in the government and public service, during which Lindenstrauss admonished the State Prosecutor's Office, saying it must conclude its investigations swiftly and not allow corruption to plant doubt in the public's mind. 12/09/08
