Indian villagers scoop out thousands of dead fish from dam as water levels decrease
Description
The incident took place in KRP dam of Krishnagiri district on May 1.
The video shows, thousands of dead fish floating in the water and few volunteers along with villagers taking out the dead fish and loading them onto a truck to be buried in a trench.
According to the reports, the officials had opened the dam water for the use of villagers in surrounding 30 villages amid lockdown.
The dam was the lifeblood for the fishermen and 700 families surrounding the dam.
This, in turn, reduced the water level in the dam below the required quantity by 1190 centimetres (39 feet) and had a direct effect on the fish as the water became increasingly muddy.
The deas fish were removed and buried nearby. Rejuvenation of the dam will take a long time as the region has witnessed less rain and water supply for Karnataka.
