India back in Olympic fold
Description
Months after India was suspended from Olympics, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Wednesday (May 15) pulled back India from exile. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has agreed to IOC's demands of holding fresh AGM and elections. IOA has also agreed to IOC's age and tenure clause. India was suspended in December after the IOA held its elections in accordance with a government sports code even though the IOC had asked it to follow its own constitution. Those elections also made tainted official Lalit Bhanot the new IOA secretary-general.
