Impossible Princess - Sculpting her lover

She took the clay from the pot
Warmed it between her hands
Her fingers sunk into the moist offering
She felt herself knead away
All of the disappointments
All that had gone before
She placed the clay on the wheel
Slowly pressing at the step
It started to spin
Keeping the clay within those fingers
She felt him starting to take shape
Moulded him a face
Though the features were still not there yet
She could see how he might look
A feeling welled up in her
Not wanting anything she'd seen before
This time.....
He was going to be forever........
