Worldwide attention was focused on the results of Spain's May 24 regional and municipal elections, in which a new player in the field, Podemos, the radical left, anti-austerity party, together with its allies, shook up the political system and the traditional left, scoring major gains, particularly in the country's two largest cities, Madrid and Barcelona. In today's edition of "Imaginary Lines" host Michael Fox interviews Podemos leader Juan Carlos Monedero on the significance of the elections, Spanish politics, and the outlook for the general elections slated for later this year.
