Ilse Wissner - Tranquility

I take my thoughts for leisure walks
Along the winding country road.
With my soul they have reflective talks
About all my senses can behold.

No one here disturbing peace
But much to see and hear in awe
As gentle breeze caresses trees
And softly strokes my weary brow.

Elation born by simple things:
All rainbow-colors along the way
While jubilant larks are on their wings,
The does and fawns in meadows graze.

It's balm for me - could be for those
Enduring stress of daily living
Or searching answers for burd'ning woes
But know the joy that nature is giving.
