Every Ramadan, unnamed donors spend anywhere from Dh10 to Dh25,000 every day for the whole month of Ramadan, to sponsor iftar meals for thousands of fasting residents (many of them blue-collar workers), who gather at mosques and iftar tents at sunset to end the day’s fast.
