Feramis,age 32, was born with a rare form of Brittle Bone Disease. Her disease is incredibly rare and it's believed there are only two other people in Europe with the same form as Feramis has. Born in Florence, Feramis and her family moved to Paris during her childhood because there were no doctors in Italy who knew how to treat her. From the age of 4-years-old to 17, Feramis went through 21 surgeries and her back and leg bones are now built with Titanium. Although she was told by doctors that she would never walk, through persistent training, a determined Feramis achieved her goal and now walks with the help of a stick. Based once again in Florence, Feramis is a passionate activist, speaking out against ableism and raising awareness of the challenges faced by disabled people in society.
