IEA Oil Reserve Plan
Description
The IEA proposed releasing 400 million barrels from member reserves — more than double the 2022 Ukraine response — to counter oil prices that surged up to 40% since February 28th. The decision was expected Wednesday as Strait of Hormuz closures continue disrupting ~20% of global oil supply.
