Ibnu Din Assingkiri - The Pledge

An old tree with dusk leaves on the edge of
Ageing horizon beneath gloomy sky
Eyeing flock of swallows in a pattern of
Arrow shooting straight into the hill high
The sky looks stunning in an orange dress
With dark motive of mangrove on the edge
On a naked groovy beach it is rests
Where you and I secretly write a pledge
To remember this moment forever
Until our wrinkles rise in cherish
Or Frangipani blooms in September
Autumn in tropic as we always wish
From the moment of our vow’s taken
Fragrant has risen from heaven’s garden.
