IBM DEI Settlement
Description
IBM agreed to pay $17.07M to settle federal allegations of illegal DEI-based hiring practices. The DOJ said IBM falsely certified compliance with anti-discrimination rules while maintaining race- and sex-based hiring. The settlement marks the first resolution under the DOJ's Civil Rights Fraud Initiative launched in May 2025. IBM did not admit liability.
