'Husni should correct misleading statement on 1MDB'

The opposition has called on Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah to correct his contradictory statement on the potential sale of 1Malaysia Development Berhad's (1MDB) energy asset, Edra Global Energy Berhad (Edra) within two days or they would refer him to the Rights and Privileges Committee.

Husni last week told the Dewan Rakyat that the CIMB Group has been appointed by 1MDB to provide a third party evaluation on its assets for an initial public offering (IPO), however, CIMB released a statement the next day clarifying that they were only hired “to find strategic investors for the potential sale of Edra Global Energy Berhad”.
