Description
Over in Laos.
Lives are lost and at least a hundred people are missing after a hydro-electric power dam is destroyed.
According to the country's official news agency, the structure in Attapeu province collapsed Monday evening,… releasing five billion cubic meters of water into a residential area.
Houses are swept away, leaving more than 66-hundred people homeless.
The dam was scheduled to begin operating this year.
It was built by a joint venture led by South Korean companies including SK E&C.
The government is currently carrying out rescue and search operations with the full range of available personnel, including soldiers, police, and firefighters.
