Hugh Fraser - She Laughs At Me

She laughs at me, devoid of pity,
Turns the joyous to the shitty,
Sucks the innards from the city,
Wills me to expire

But then a single, humble action
Comes to be and, through refraction,
Opens up a chain reaction
Flowing down a wire

Of shiny, low-resistant copper,
Generating such a whopper
Obstacle designed to stop her
Putting out my fire

That all attempts to stifle me
Are lost, for they do not foresee
A very simple fact - that she
Eventually must tire

Of rushing to and fro to kill
All life - and thus (let me distil
The facts) , her numbing efforts will
Not humble, but inspire.
