Description

I journeyed through the sandy soil
After a very hard day's toil
Night fell suddenly over the Avenue
As I thought of the day's menu.
The watchman was at his post
I rode past him like a ghost
The gentle darkness reflected great charm
A dog's bark was the only alarm.
Amidst the pleasant trees and flowers
From above fell a graceful shower
Skies became clear as clouds melted away
And the moon and stars illuminated my way.
I cycled home as if in a race
And thought of my wife's smiling face
In the distance loomed my house at the bend
I knew then - it was journey's end.
