Huge Cold Abscess On Thigh - Aspiration

Around 300 ml of pus was aspirated with anti gravity technique of this cold abscess ( signs of inflammation are absent). So cold abscess are said to be associated with tuberculosis. Cold abscess can be diagnosed by ultra sonography or MRI or CT. Such abscess should be drained or aspirated. Anti gravity technique is used so that permanent sinus formation can be prevented, some times multiple aspirations are requited along with proper antibiotics and/or anti tubercular drugs. Pus should be sent for culture & senstivity.
