Buttock augmentation with fat is one of the most commonly performed procedures in plastic surgery. Fat will be harvested from multiple areas and injected into the buttock to provide better shape. As fat is liquid, adding increased volume to the buttock will cause it to feel hard after surgery. Buttocks tend to soften and feel normal again after three months, but should be firmer due to the increased volume. Awareness of what your buttocks will feel like during recovery period will avoid causing unnecessary panic for both patients and prospective clients of buttock augmentation surgery. Other reasons why your buttock might feel hard after surgery is fat necrosis. Fat necrosis means that some of the fat dies. When the fat dies it form an area of induration. Many times fat necrosis will resolved with time but sometimes it will take months to resolved.
