How will humans react to driverless cars?

The biggest unknown factor when it comes to driverless cars is us: humans. How quickly can we take charge again if the computer stops? What will we get up to while we're being driven around?
The University of Southampton is leading an £11m, four year research project to test these so-called "human factors". They are beginning by putting drivers of all ages through their paces in a driverless car simulator.
