Marc J. Spears was one of the handful of press allowed in the NBA bubble this past season, and it was a totally new experience. Even though the media was tested every day for the COVID-19 virus just like the players, the only way they were allowed to speak with them is on the phone or on zoom calls. Marc J. Spears believes that even when the word is somewhat back to normal, interviews should still be done over the phone or on zoom. If you aren't allowed near the players, what is the point of traveling to them? One downside of the over the phone interviews is that it gets a lot of the media on the same level, because before interviews were this easy, dedicated journalists were ahead of the game and now the laziest of journalists have the same access with the click of a button.
