How to Winterize Your Home

Winter weather will be here before you know it. Time to get a new filter for your furnace and call the gas company for a preseason inspection. Weather-strip your windows to prevent air leaks. Wrap exposed pipes in rubber sleeves and use an insulation blanket on your water heater, especially if it’s an older model. Get your chimney checked for cracks and leaks. Make sure your roof is in good shape for harsh weather too. While you’re at it, clean out all your rain gutters. Now your house is ready for winter.
