How to paint a simple pot

In this art tutorial on how to paint a simple vase or pot I take you through the whole process of painting in acrylic from initial sketch to final painting. I start by showing you how to use your own wrist as a compass to create the curved sides of the pot. I explain how to work out where the light is coming from and how this effects the tone of the paint.

I show you how to apply the acrylic paint in brushstrokes that follow the structure of the pot and finally how to create convincing highlights. This art tutorial is aimed at beginners, teachers who teach young children how to paint and draw and GCSE art students.
