how to make cake pops ghosts
Description
These are very easy to make cake pops, easy to follow recipe, very tasty, great for children parties and for Halloween.\r
Ingredients:\r
1. 1/2 of 600g iced white chocolate mud cake (or use iced dark chocolate mud cake)\r
2. 375g packet white chocolate melts (if you intend to use dark chocolate cake then use dark chocolate melts)\r
3. White candy melts (or use white chocolate)\r
4. Black edible food pen Wilton or AmeriColor (or use black writing icing)\r
5. Orange color M & Ms to make lanterns\r
6. White color tic-tac\r
7. Lollypop sticks, Styrofoam or floral block\r
Method:\r
1. Remove the icing from the cake.\r
2. Using your fingers, crumble the cake very finely.\r
3. Place 2/3 of a cup of the chocolate melts in a heat-proof bowl or jug and melt them in the microwave. Heat them for 30 seconds at a time and stir between each one (or melt them on top of saucepan with boiling water) then pour the melted chocolate into the crumbled cake and stir it through.\r
4. Using two teaspoons of mixture at a time, roll it into ghost shapes, use back of brush to make ghost shapes more realistic; insert two white color tic-tac to create little arms and place it on a baking paper lined plates or tray.\r
5.Melt another 1/4 of a cup of the chocolate.\r
6. Working with one stick at a time, dip the stick 2cm into the melted white chocolate (or use white color candy melts) and insert one into each cake pop.\r
7. Place them on a plate lined with baking paper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or place them in freezer for 15-30 minutes, or until they are firm. \r
8. Use black edible decorating pan to draw faces on top of orange color M & Ms to resemble lanterns. Set aside. \r
9. Melt white candy melts (or white chocolate) with 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening (like vegetable oil, Crisco).\r
10. Working with one cake pop at a time, take prepared cake pop, dip into white candy melts carefully tap off excess of candy melts and place up right in Styrofoam, attach prepared orange color M & Ms to resemble lantern under little arms and place in refrigerator for 10 minutes until set and harden. When cake pop is set; draw eyes and mouth patterns with black edible food pen (or use black writing icing). Draw handle for the lantern around little arm. Repeat with remaining cake pops.
