How to Kill Disney Villains

As the Lion King remake rapidly approaches and the Aladdin remake continues to rake in the cash,  the world is wrapped up in debating the merits of the live-action remakes of the classic Disney animated canon. Between “Lion King” 2019, the “Aladdin” 2019, and the upcoming “Little Mermaid” and “Mulan” remake, the dominance of Disney shows no signs of stopping. And with every new tailor we’ve seen, one thing is for sure: the villains are still as vicious as ever.

There is a long tradition of Disney villain deaths throughout the history of movies, from Scar, Jafar, and Ursula to Captain Hook and Maleficent. For such family friendly children’s movies, they are certainly not afraid to dispatch their dastardly villains through extremely gruesome means. From falling to flame, Disney and Pixar villains like Gaston, Syndrome, and Ratigan have all faced poetic justice. As the remakes continue to release, and we wait patiently for our first glimpse of Halle Bailey as Ariel, and see how Donald Glover and Beyonce do as Simba and Nala, we’ll continue to wonder what Disney movies they will remake in 2020 and beyond, and whether they’ll continue to bump off their baddies in oh-so-satisfying fashion.
