How to Install Atom Editor on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS?


What is Atom?

Atom is a Free and open source text and code editor from the makers of Github.

First, right click on the desktop, and then click on 'open terminal.' After that, follow the steps below:-


Step 1: Add PPA

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/atom


Step 2: Update System Repositories

sudo apt update


Step 3: Install Atom Editor

sudo apt install atom


In order to open then Atom Editor, Click on 'show applications' at the bottom left. Do a search for Atom. After that, click on it to open it.
