How To Draw A Basic Anime Eye
156 Views • Jan 24, 2014
Description
This was created on photoshop and illustrator CS6. I have provided the main steps in this video, but unfortunately I can not squeeze everything on, so here are some pointers below in a convenient list to feast your arty eyes on:
***************
COLOURING TIPS: (Mix these features for your desired effect. Everything can be found in the top bar on photoshop.
--Opacity: turn your opacity down to blend colours and over lap them. This is useful when colouring your iris- you are able to blend the blacks and greens. It also allows you to have different shades of highlights when you add detail to your drawing.
--Brush hardness: turn it to 0% hardness to enable you to mix your colours softly. The harder the brush, the more 'cartoon' like your shading will be.
--Flow: your brush runs more smoothly.
COPYING INTO PHOTOSHOP FROM ILLUSTRATOR:
Everything in illustrator is vector. When you paste an object into photoshop, keep it as a 'smart object.' A little option pops up when you cmd+V - click smart object, not pixels etc. When you keep it as a smart object, photoshop remembers how the image was set in illustrator and you can go back and change the original image in illustrator. When you double click on the layer, a new window will appear and there you can change/save your image- it will then update in photoshop immediately. If you want to delete something minor, click a mask and ERASE on the 'mask' box. You can always revert your mask back if you delete something by accident.
PHOTOSHOP AND ILLUSTRATOR BRUSHES:
Google and download free brushes from the internet, but make sure you read the license and don't use for commercial use unless you have permission.
ILLUSTRATOR TIPS:
White arrow- drags handles and alters the shape of a stroke.
Brush- draw strokes
Pen- more precise/technical drawing
Convert anchor- enables handles to bend the strokes
Scissors- click scissors and click the strokes that you want to delete
cmd+j = join strokes to convert to shapes
cmd+s= save
cmd+c = copy
cmd+v = paste.
