In this video attorney Greg Jones answers the question: How long will a long-term disability plan cover me? The length of long-term disability coverage varies from plan to plan. Some plans limit coverage to only a few years, requiring the policy-holder to either return to their old job, or find a new one better suited to their disability once they reach the policy limit. Other plans, especially those for employees who hold positions requiring highly specific skills, offer lifetime coverage to the policyholder until they reach an age where they can retire or are able to return to their old profession.
