How does the NBA Draft Lottery process work?

CHICAGO — The 2019 NBA Draft Lottery will be held on May 14, but how does the process actually work?
According the NBC Sports Chicago, the 14 NBA teams that did not qualify for the postseason make up the eligible Lottery pool.

A thousand possible Lottery combinations are divided among those 14 teams based on regular season records.
This is how the drawing works. There are 14 ping pong balls numbered 1 to 14. Those balls are dropped into a glass drum and mixed for 20 seconds.

At that point, four balls are drawn for the first pick in 10-second intervals.

This process will then be repeated to select picks two, three and four.
According to NBC Sports Chicago, the remaining 10 draft picks are then slotted to the remaining 10 teams in reverse standing order.
