How a Cop lies to another Cop

In April 2021, Richard Campos (B.#:10837) of the Dallas Police Department drew a taser, gripped a pistol, and gave multiple unlawful verbal commands, in an attempt to escalate, intimidate, or harm a Dallas, TX driver (Zachary Havens) during a traffic stop. The following minor traffic violations were mentioned: high beams were on and rear license plate light was out. To preserve his job security and prevent an emergency call, Mr. Campos gripped a pistol, lied to another cop, and then decided to de-escalate.

Declaring ignorance to vilify others is faulty logic. Bullies are good at finding an excuse to be themselves.

In the US, we can know our 4th Amendment Rights. There are blue criminals out there, who think they are better than federal laws. The 6th Amendment defines a right to life, and the 14th Amendment defines equal protection under the law. So why do the police think their lives and their safety are more important than ours? We have 1st Amendment rights to try to answer that kind of question. Body camera footage has shown vanity, paranoia, and anger issues as prime candidates to explain criminal behavior committed by law enforcement officers.

The audio of this body camera video footage (mistakenly labeled as "raw") appears to have been edited to cut out the audio of Mr. Campos swearing around the time of the bad pistol grip. So, even IAD may not know when DPD officers swear. At least in 2021. This edit may have been done by a member of the ORU, inside the DPD, so it is virtually impossible to recover 100% of the real audio due to this earlier edit. Eventually, the DPD did hand over edited footage and some non-edited footage as part of an open records request.
