House votes back Romualdez as Speaker

The House of Representatives votes for Leyte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez as Speaker during the opening of the 20th Congress on July 28, 2025. Dinagat Islands Rep. Kaka Bag-ao, Bacolod Rep. Albee Benitez, Mamamayang Liberal Rep. Leila de Lima, and Cebu 5th District Rep. Duke Frasco were among those who abstained. The lawmakers then took their oath before Romualdez at the plenary hall.
