Hotter weekend ahead _ 072018

Now we turn to our Michelle Park at the weather center for the latest updates. Michelle Seoul's daytime temperature broke another record today with 34.7 degrees Celsius.

Daniel, Seoul was hot but the southern regions were way hotter today with their daily highs nearly the 40 degree Celsius mark. Heatwave warnings have been issued now to most of the country, with the exception of some coastlines.

But the concerning thing is, the temperature is expected to rise even further tomorrow, as a typhoon headed towards China is expected to blow in hot steam into the peninsula.

More places including Seoul will have to endure another tropical night as the temperature won't fall below 25 degrees Celsius up until the morning.

Daily highs in Seoul peak at 36, Gwangju at 37 and Daegu at 38, which is higher than our body temperature.

The hot weather will stay with us day and night. But,... due to the influence of the approaching typhoon,... there are chances of sporadic showers in some parts of Korea next week.
