Hormel Revenue Drops 5%
Description
Hormel Foods Corp.’s ($HRL@US) sales dropped 5 percent in its latest quarter as customers purchased fewer refrigerated foods and Jennie-O Turkey Store products. The food producer’s sales fell to $3.28 billion in its latest quarter, down from $3.45 billion a year ago. An avian influenza outbreak impacted the Jennie-O Turkey Store Brand. Volumes in poultry supplies dropped by a third, cutting the segment’s top line by 15 percent. Inflation pressures on consumers, supply-chain disruptions, and international plant shutdowns have impacted Hormel and other meat producers.
