Hong Kong protesters wait it out

Description

As the sun rises in Hong Kong, thousands of pro-democracy demonstrators continue to hold their ground.

Now in it's fifth day, the protests against Beijing's decision not to grant free and open elections in 2017 have galvanized residents of all ages.

I don't take this lightly, one woman says. It's hot and rainy but we need to do something.

That sentiment continues to draw thousands to the usually bustling business center, now organized into a makeshift grassroots ground zero.

First aid tents have sprung up and a feeling of camaraderie fills the air.

Even when supplies are low, as this student volunteer explains-

(SOUNDBITE) (English) 18 YEAR-OLD HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AND PROTESTER VOLUNTEER SERENA TSIU, SAYING:

"...we just go to the internet and maybe post a post in Facebook, whatever. In an hour, the food will be sufficient, because everybody is coming."
