Honduras: Torchlight Protests Taking Back Unsafe Streets

For seven weeks in a row, thousands of outraged Hondurans have held their torches high in street marches demanding the establishment of an anti-impunity commission and the removal of corrupt President Juan Hernandez. For many years few people ventured into the streets at night for fear of crime, but now the torchlight protesters have taken back the streets, uniting many sectors of society and holding around 20 marches each week throughout the country.
