Homes escape Australia bushfire

Firefighters and water bombing aircraft rushed to contain a bushfire at Lower Portland on the Hawkesbury River north-west of Sydney on Sunday (November 3).
An emergency warning was issued by authorities for people to leave the area after the fire destroyed more than 60 hectares of bushland.
The blaze came close to some properties, but a southerly wind changed the direction of the fire and no homes were damaged, the ABC reported.
The fire has now eased and residents have been allowed to retune to their homes.
