Hollywood star for Melissa Etheridge

Melissa Etheridge isn't the only one to get her star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
In fact, she's number 2,450.

"Let my life have been an inspiration to anyone, gay, straight, breast cancer, woman, mother, any human being who receives the inspiration from my story, let that be, because if nothing else, to show the world that you can have a dream."
The Grammy Award winning-singer has released 10 studio albums over the span over her 25-year career.
She is an activist for gay rights after publicly coming out as a lesbian in 1993.
The 50-year-old singer-songwriter is also a breast cancer survivor, who has lent her voice for the cause.
