HILO nasce come progetto solista di Antonio Canestri.

Classe 1986, toscano, Antonio ha militato negli ultimi dieci anni in varie band di estrazione punk, hardcore e noise della provincia livornese come "Mickey Kills Sushi", "The Bargain & The Thief" e "Maraiton".
Fonda HILO nel 2010, ma decide di dare concretezza al progetto soltanto nel dicembre del 2012 quando inizia a registrare il suo primo EP "Not a city, not a name".
Per "Not a city, not a name EP" Antonio si è avvalso della collaborazione di alcuni giovani musicisti della provincia livornese come Davide Lelli (ex "L'Orso" ed attuale trombettista dei milanesi "The Please") e Davide Crescenzi.

Nel 2013 HILO si trasforma in una band
che si presenta dal vivo in formazione sia da quattro che da cinque elementi.

HILO oggi sono Antonio, Davide, Davide, Paolo e Luca.

HILO is an alternative folk project of Antonio Canestri, from Leghorn (Italy).
Born in the 1986, Antonio joined for the last 10 years punk, hardcore and noise bands from Tuscany as "Mickey Kills Sushi", "The Bargain & The Thief" and "Maraiton".
He sets up HILO on 2010, but decides to record his first EP only in the 2012. The EP is called "Not a city, not a name".
"Not a city, not a name EP" is the DIY product of the collaboration with two young artists of the Italian music panorama as Davide Lelli (trumpet and percussions for bands as "L'Orso" and "The Please") and Davide Crescenzi.

HILO today is a five piece band.
