Hiker Encounters Two Curious Black Bears

A hiker was walking through Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area in Connecticut on Friday, August 28, when she came across two curious black bears. The hiker has stated that after the video ended the bears stopped following her and she walked away unharmed. A representative from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has stated that this is not the first incident with this bear, citing three previous encounters.

The statement from DEEP also mentions that their wildlife biologists have analyzed the footage and have “expressed serious concerns about the behavior of the bear.” As such it has been decided that “DEEP will euthanize the animal if it can be located.” The statement also highlights that “this is not a decision made lightly.” Credit: Facebook/Stephanie Rivkin
