High security in Delhi for Independence day

On the eve of Independence Day celebrations, unprecedented security measures have been put in place in the national capital.

Ten thousand security personnel have been deployed around the Red Fort. Three km radius around the Red Fort will be completely sanitized as well as the entire route covered by CCTV cameras.

Unmanned aerial vehicles will be used for security and help will also be sought from the Indian Air Force. Intelligence agencies have sounded a high alert for Delhi during this Independence day weekend. Special checking of vehicles at the border points is also scheduled.
