Description

When the battle against Civil Rights became heated in the 1950s, and Roy E. Davis began to rise through both the ranks of white supremacy groups into leadership positions and recognition in the revival trails, William Branham appears to have been using the power of his publicity to help Roy Davis hide from federal agents.

When Davis set up camp in Jeffersonville, he came from Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky, while claiming to be from El Paso. In 1953, Branham said that Davis was “out of Dallas”, which doesn’t batch any of these locations. In 1958, when Davis was in Dallas and under the watchful eye of the government, Branham claimed that Davis was out of Big Springs, TX, over 850 miles and 12 hours away. In 1964, Branham claimed that Davis was from Van Horn, TX, near the outer edge of the Texas panhandle. This location was over a thousand miles and fifteen hours away from Davis’ location in Dallas.

At the same time, Davis either joined Branham’s revivals or Branham claimed that he did to confuse federal agents. In 1964, for example, Branham said that Davis was likely in the meeting in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Also in 1964, Branham expected Davis in a revival in Florida.
