hidden poet - suicide

The marks you left inside of me,
those cannot be seen.

These marks, though,
the ones I give myself
are visible.

Angry red lines-
as I pour my soul into the bathroom sink.
These are the marks you make.

Death could be the answer
but what would it achieve?
You would not see, or even grieve.

I could die today
or anytime I choose,
but why bother?

You killed me already.
All that I am now is the shell
that has somehow survived.

You put me through this hell
but I will stay alive.
