our daughter

on may the ninetenth 1948
our daughter was born on that date
the good lord blessed us with a baby girl
and to usshe was more precious than any pearl
then you were tiny but the love you expressed
was enough to swell our chests
our joy and pride forever grows
and we wonder if it really shows
now that you are a woman
we still love you dearly
and that we sayvery sincerly
