Electronic waste contains hazardous elements, including heavy metals such as mercury, lead, chromium, cadmium, arsenic, silver, cobalt, palladium and copper. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), exposure to even low levels of mercury, cadmium and lead can cause serious neurological damage and impair a child’s physical and mental development.
